COPAXONE® Information
COPAXONE® (glatiramer acetate injection)
COPAXONE® has been proven effective in 3 separate “Class I” clinical studies.1-3
Results from 2 long-term (2-year) studies showed that COPAXONE® reduces relapses
in people with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS).1-2 One of the 2-year
studies has been extended to 15 years in an open-label fashion—the longest continuous
prospective study ever of people with RRMS.4
Another clinical study showed that people on COPAXONE® had steady reductions in
the number of new brain lesions measured by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) during
9 months of therapy.3 When this study was extended to 18 months, it showed that
people taking COPAXONE® continued having steady reductions in the number of lesions. 5 The reduction in new MRI brain lesions may reflect a reduction in new inflammation in
the brain.
